Introduction
Magnesite, the name has been in use since antiquity. It consist of Crystalline or Macrocrystalline (Sparry Type) and Microcrystalline or Cryptocrystalline Type mineral. Resources of around 13,000 Million Tons in which 93% is Sparry Magnesite & 7% Cryptocrystalline Magnesite. Around 20 Million Tons Magnesite is mined in which 85% Sparry Magnesite & 15% Cryptocrystalline Magnesite.

Occurrences
Magnesite, Estimated Resources of Magnesite are 13 Billion Tons, 92% of Magnesite resources accounted by 6 countries namely China 26%, North Korea 23%, Russia 21%, Slovakia 10%, Brazil 7%, Australia 5% & Others 23 countries 8%. Estimated Production of Magnesite is 8.5 Million Tons in which 49% accounted by China, 12% by Russia, 6% by Turkey, 5% by Slovakia, 5% by Austria & 23% by Other countries.

Properties
Magnesite, it is found in colors that range from white to black through shades of Grey, Red, Blue or Yellow, depending on the type and amount of impurity.
